Athens-Vilnius flight service a 'significant moment': Lithuanian ambassador
Lithuanian ambassador to Greece Rolandas Kačinskas on Tuesday termed the inauguration of the direct flight service between Athens and Vilnius as a significant moment.
He further said the initiative would be very beneficial from the tourism perspective as well as development of relations between Greece and Lithuania in general.
"It is truly a significant moment in the relations of Greece and Lithuania. We will see many more tourists traveling both ways now. It is symbolic, that the direct flight from Athens to Vilnius commences on the year when Lithuania celebrates the centennial of its restored statehood,” Kačinskas said.
As a measure to boost the ties between capitals of Lithuania and Greece, the Athens International airport and the Embassy of Lithuania to Greece inaugurated the direct flight service between two cities, iniated by 'Wizz Air' carrier, on March 27.
