Huffington Post Greece: The Greek who recorded his name in the history of Lithuania recalls defence of freedom during the bloodbath events in Vilnius 30 years ago
On January 13,1991, Lithuanian protesters formed a human shield to protect a radio and television center from Soviet forces in the capital Vilnius. Ahed of the 30th anniversay of this watershed moment in the history of Lithuania that precipitated the collapse of the USSR, the Huffington Post Greece published an interview with Nikolai Medvedev, the signatory of the Act on the Restoration of the Independent State of Lithuania, who also happened to be of the Greek origin.
