The third meeting of Lithuanian Communities in Greece and Cyprus took place in Parnitha district near Athens on 12-13 of October, with over 90 Lithuanian community members from Athens, Patras, Cyprus, Crete and guests from Lithuania. The meeting was organized by the Council of the Lithuanian Community in Greece in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to the Hellenic Republic, supported by the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Amabassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Hellenic Republic Rolandas Kačinskas thanked Ms. Viktorija Gribinaitė-Naki, the chairwomen of the Lithuanian community in Greece, for the well-organized event and efforts to promote Lithuanian traditions, and presented to her the historical Lithuanian flag and the letter of gratitude from the Embassy.

Welcoming the participants of the gathering, ambassador R. Kacinskas expressed a satisfaction that the tradition of annual gaterings of Lithuanians in Greece and Cyprus, started three years ago, continues to grow.

“On this special year of the 30th anniversary of the Baltic Way, let's end it with a new force. Let's join our hands and hearts. Let's be together.”, -  ambassador said.
