Lithuanian leaders congratulated Greece on Independence Day
President Dalia Grybauskaitė extended congratulations to President Prokopios Pavlopoulos on Greek Independence Day. She wished the people of Greece continued success, prosperity, concord, and a happy celebration.
The President pointed out that Greece was an important collaborative partner of Lithuania in the European Union, NATO and at the bilateral level.
"Of central importance are close people-to-people contacts based on common formats, which have expanded considerably over the past decade, aimed at developing joint academic, cultural and student exchanges as well as tourism and business initiatives," the President wrote in her message of congratulations
Dalia Grybauskaitė expressed her firm belief that the growing dialogue between the two countries and proper coordination of their positions on pressing issues would make both nations stronger and would increase European unity and prosperity.
Lithuania’s Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis and Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius also sent messages of congratulations to their respective counterparts of Greece.
