Prospects for Lithuanian-Greek Economic Cooperation Discussed in Milos
On 14 September, Ambassador-designate of Lithuania to Greece Andrius Kalindra visited the island of Milos, where he met with the Mayor of Milos, Emmanouil (Manolis) Mikelis, and representatives of the Greek company EEKOM S.A.
The meetings focused on the prospects for economic cooperation between Lithuania and Greece, opportunities to expand business ties and develop new partnerships. The Ambassador-designate thanked EEKOM S.A. for its cooperation with Lithuanian companies and its contribution to strengthening trade relations between the two countries.
During the visit, Andrius Kalindra also visited the Port of Milos, where he observed the loading of a vessel bound for Lithuania. High-quality raw material extracted on Milos is supplied to Lithuania, where it is processed, creating greater added value, while the finished products reach global markets. This provides a concrete and practical example of business cooperation between Lithuania and Greece.
In 2025, trade in goods between Lithuania and Greece amounted to approximately EUR 200 million. Lithuanian exports to Greece totalled around EUR 133 million, while imports from Greece amounted to approximately EUR 67 million.
Lithuania and Greece have significant potential to further strengthen their economic ties, promote direct business contacts and develop new mutually beneficial partnerships.
